• I love being part of the Blue Wheelers team – washing and grooming a variety of dogs in Alice Springs and the surrounding suburbs.  My number one tip for dog owners is to groom your dog regularly.  Brushing in between your regular professional grooming sessions build the bond between you and your dog, and makes it much less stressful for your pooch when the groomer arrives if your dog is knot and mat free.

  My favourite thing about being a Blue Wheeler is seeing the smiles on the faces of dog owners when handing the dog back, clean, tidy and smelling beautiful, ready for cuddles.

  I have always been an animal lover.  For as long as I can remember all I wanted to do was work with animals.  I have a menagerie at home including three dogs, two cats, four horses and a pair of Rainbow Lorikeets.  I am also a qualified Horse Massage Therapist and a student of the Parelli Natural Horsemanship Program.  The knowledge I have gained in animal anatomy, psychology and behavior will serve me well in my new career as a Blue Wheelers dog groomer.

  Any dog is my favourite breed of dog!  I have three dogs at home, Alfie a 2yo Staffy X Ridgeback (adopted), Chewy a 5 ½yo Maltese X something (adopted) and the pack leader, Mojo a 8yo Maltese Shitzu.  I always recommend people visit a shelter and adopt, over purchasing dogs from breeders or pet shops.  Shelter dogs make perfect family pets, come with all their vaccinations, health checks and are de-sexed prior to adoption.

  My Big Blue Dog Trailer name is “Mack”.  Mack is a name that holds a lot of sentimental value to me and was the name of my long time equine friend and partner, my show horse, “Mack”.  He meant the world to me and passed away on Boxing Day 2015, so when I started my Blue Wheelers franchise in July 2016 and was asked to choose a name for my blue dog, it just had to be Mack.

  After working in business administration for over 20 years, and owning and running a successful business with my husband in Alice Springs for the last 12 years, I decided it was time to go back to doing what I love most, working with animals – that’s why I chose to join the Blue Wheeler family.
