I’ve been with Blue Wheelers since 2014 in my home area of Umina Beach (2257). My number one tip for pet owners in regards to washing and grooming is to always monitor your dog’s skin for irritation, scratching or biting. This can be very uncomfortable for our furry friends and may need a different hypoallergenic shampoo, flea treatments or removal of knots and tangles.

My favourite thing about being a Blue Wheeler is the different dogs and people I get to see each day. When I leave in the morning I feel like I am on my way to spend time with my friends. I love the way the dogs play and wrestle after having their bath or hair clipped, this the best part of the job and I can leave knowing the dog is happy and had a bit of fun.

I have always loved animals and my own dogs are very special, they are a big part of our family. In my last career, I used to travel to work sometimes two hours on the train and bus. When the opportunity presented for me to change careers I immediately thought about the lucky people I saw driving around with the big blue dog. I imagined how different my life would be to work outdoors, playing with different dogs and talking great people. I took a chance and have never looked back.

I believe that being a Blue Wheeler is a passion; I treat my clients and their owners just like I would want my dogs to be treated, with respect, kindness and compassion. The best part is when I visit a dog that used to dislike a bath but now runs around in circles to greet me.

My favourite dog breed would be Maltese; the reason for this is that I love their playfulness, loyalty and most of all their cuddles.

My journey with Blue Wheelers family began almost two years ago. I was seeking a change from my career and passion for animals led me to join the Blue Wheelers team. Even till this day I get pleasure and satisfaction in making my fur clients happy and comfortable whilst they are being groomed by me.

I grew up in Fiji with my grandparents and moved to Australia when I was 15 years old. My wife and I moved to Umina Beach and have started our family life; we have two children and a house full of animals. The biggest change since becoming a Blue Wheeler was being able to make breakfast and drop my kids to school all before starting my working day. In my previous job, I was always at work before my family woke up. Now I can be home in time to help with homework, cook dinner and spend time quality time with my family.

Ron’s been tending to my two Maltese X Jack Russells for a number of years now and he’s always done a fantastic job. In the past I’ve had trouble with one of them getting anxious/cranky and snappy at groomers which have made it difficult to find repeat groomers. Ron is always very patient with him and calms him down with a chat, so much so that he’s gotten progressively more comfortable with Ron.

Ron has been looking after our dogs for 5 years now and we couldn’t be happier. Our previous rescue dog Toby always looked so handsome after his grooming. Our pomeranian Bear is ann older now and has health issues, but Ron is so kind and gentle with him he soon settles down. Our Cavoodle puppy Rosie can be anxious too but is getting used to her grooming sessions and is quite happy with her appearance. We’re very lucky we have Ron he does an amazing job. He is so kind and gentle with Bear and Rosie they love him. Wendy

Ron is so good with my 2 dogs. They were always so fussy when we tried to wash them ourselves and tried a couple other people but then with Ron I knew he was the right guy just after I met him. Top bloke and the dogs love him too!!

Using Blue Wheelers is one of the best decisions I have made for my dog. Ron is so friendly and great at what he does. Ron Kumar did an excellent job on both our dogs haircuts today. He particularly excelled when it came to “Zoe’s” haircut. Zoe has an anxiety disorder and can get quite distraught and belligerent when it comes to haircuts.

Ron had the patience of a saint and managed to get Zoe to the point where she had a respectable haircut (the best we’ve had so far from any business).

He also took the time to explain what he was doing, and helped me with some great tips to help avoid our dogs getting mats in their paws.

I’d readily recommend Ron/Blue Wheelers to my friends and family as he genuinely seems to care about a quality outcomes and a great customer experience.
