Hi, my name’s Daniel and I love being a part of the Blue Wheelers team. I’m living the dream washing and grooming dogs of Aldinga Beach (5173), SA and surrounding suburbs.

I love working with dogs for a living. Seeing happy dogs and their owners is extremely satisfying and reassures me that I’m working in a rewarding field.

I’ve always been an incredible lover of all animals but growing up with dogs has made me appreciate the love and compassion that they bring. No matter how rough a day can get, coming home to an excited creature eager for your attention can really turn things around.

Over the years the dog breeds that I’ve loved the most has changed. However, the one constant in that list has been German Shepherds. Their loyalty has always been impressive to me, as well as having possibly the cutest puppies you’ll ever see. Myself and my wife recently rescued an Irish Wolfhound/Australian Shepherd mix, and he has taken over as the leader of the house. We couldn’t have been happier to rescue such a beautiful animal and bring him into a loving home.

Coming up with a name for my Blue Dog wasn’t as simple as I expected. I tried to work in my love of film, sport or music but nothing really fit. Once it came down to making a decision, I happened to be listening to some music by Alexi Murdoch. He’s a brilliant British songwriter and now the inspiration for a South Aussie Blue Dog.

Before becoming a dog groomer, I worked for many years in a retail customer service role. This experience taught be how to best communicate with the public and involved areas of problem-solving and time management. These seem like solid starting off points, but my love of animals and commitment to doing the best job possible will help move my new career forward.

Daniel is simply amazing! My husky absolutely adores him, which says a lot considering she despises bath time. She is excited when he arrives and doesn’t want him to leave. He has an exceptional ability to create a positive and comfortable environment for dog. I couldn’t be happier with the fantastic job he does. We recently moved to the area and Im thankful I found Daniel to groom Oscar. He provides excellent service, very prompt and great communication. Oscar can be timid with strangers but Daniel’s love of dogs made Oscar feel very comfortable. Daniel gave Chihuahua Sam, on holiday with us, his first real clip for a couple of years.
He arrived with long, thick hair, lethargic and feeling the first of the summer heat.
After his wash and clip he was like a puppy again – ears, snout and feet uncovered and full of energy.
We and his owners were thrilled to see him so comfortable and happy. A big thank you, Daniel.

Very happy with the outcome of Leroy’s first groom and wash! At only 5 months old Leroy is bouncy and full of beans but Daniel was very patient and managed to wash and groom him to perfection! Daniel seems to be a natural with animals and Leroy loved him. Will definitely book again. Thanks Daniel!

Really friendly & prompt service, dogs cried a little bit & he was very caring towards our dogs, constantly trying to help settle and make sure they knew they were ok.

Daniel washed our 3 cattle dogs, the youngest being deaf. He has a wonderful way with them all, especially Matilda the deafy who had not been in the Big Blue Dog before. They were all very well behaved and Daniel looked after them all and did a fantastic job! Thankyou!!

Highly recommended! Daniel is a great find, very thorough and professional and obviously a big dog lover at heart! I managed to get both my problem fur children bathed and nail clipped with no drama or stress to either of them, they weren’t even like my dogs once in the trailer! Reasonable prices, great service, very kind and gentle with the girls. Dan’s a great guy, need I say more!! Support this great local business, I will be regularly!!

How glad were we to find Dan, he immediately made friends with Leo so he was very happy to enter Murdoch for a bath, with Dan’s relaxing ways he even managed to get him blowdried without stressing him out as he hates that part. We would thoroughly recommend.
