I love being a part of the Blue Wheelers team – living the dream washing and grooming dogs of Labrador and Biggera Waters.

I have lived on the Gold Coast for over 20 years and previously worked as a Member of Parliament, working closely with the Animal Welfare League and RSPCA. I just love all animals, but especially dogs. They make me smile and laugh! I have a Jack Russell x Fox Terrier named Chilli and she is my household’s best buddy. I understand how important your dog is to you.

My number one tip for dog owners is to ensure they are groomed on a regular basis to ensure they are comfortable in all weather conditions and kept hygienic and of course that they get lots of brushes and care in between appointments.

Working with dogs is a passion and as the diary fills up each week it would be a good idea to give me a call and discuss your dog’s needs and then book regularly so your dog’s needs are not forgotten with busy life schedules. So please fill in the booking form to get in touch.

I am so excited to be working with Blue Wheelers to deliver exceptional dog care and grooming to the local Labrador and Biggera Water’s community. I enjoy the positive energy I feel from interacting with people and I look forward to meeting the many dog owners in the area. My favourite part of my week is visiting the local dog park with my children and our dog – I tell them a quick visit there will always make you feel happy, relaxed and motivated. I love seeing the different breeds of dogs and talking to owners about the quirky behaviours and personalities of their dogs. They are all different!

I was inspired to join Blue Wheelers by a previous Blue Wheelers dog groomer. After working in government and jobs that were quite stressful I was looking for a job where I could bring to life my passion for meeting people and fun personality again. I have two children who love dogs too and I wanted to find a job that would inspire them and make them proud of the work their mum does.

My favourite dog breed is the Jack Russell. They have spunk and are active, yet very cuddly. I have owned a lot of dogs whilst growing up from working Kelpie’s to a big red Doberman and I loved them all. I also love the colour and loyalty of the Weimaraner.

I have always loved animals and have been a strong advocate for important changes in legislation to improve the wellbeing and care of animals, in particular dogs. In 2001 I was elected to the state parliament in Queensland. I love meeting people and hearing their stories, and I know how many people feel about their furry friends and how they are part of the family. For many, I know their pets are just like their children or are their children and their best companion.

Hugo can be a stubborn dog that doesn’t always like having his bath but Peta Kaye is exceptional with him. She is so patient and kind and Hugo just loves her. He comes back looking and smelling gorgeous. Can definitely recommend.

Peta Kaye gave Maggie a full clip and groom and did an excellent job. She was gentle and caring with my elderly dog, and the end result is a lot better than I’ve had from storefront groomers in the past. Craig Budarick from Blue Wheelers Labrador picked up Snoopy from my unit in Biggera Waters. He bathed, trimmed and clipped Snoopy and brought back to me in 45 minutes. I am extremely pleased with his service. Upon return, Snoopy seemed very happy and relaxed, and not stressed at all like I’ve seen him in other pet grooming facilities. Craig was very kind and gentle which made me immediately feel calm and relaxed, that I could trust him with my dog. His price was also very reasonable. I’m sure I’ll be using Craig’s services again for Snoopy.

There is a list in the NGCC FBpage of local dog groomers. I rang them all, plus another 20, yes 20, and couldn’t get one mobile or salon appt till ‘at least’ next week. Seriously considering buying a franchise considering how busy they all were. Finally a beaut bloke, Craig, from Blue Wheelers , Labrador, managed to not only respond to my message, but slotted in my visiting Spoodle for a fabulous clipping and wash. $55 for an hour’s treatment and blow dry with a treat and he even threw in a nail clipping for my own cattle dog. I’ve booked him in now for Monday to come back and give the royal treatment to the aged border collie who is also visiting. Has a knack with the dogs, and we were super happy with the service. Just wanted to thank Craig for doing for a fabulous job grooming a mature aged 3 legged border collie for me. When I adopted Tess I was told she wasn’t keen on baths, but Craig had no trouble confidently picking her up and giving her a pampering session which she seemed really happy with, as can be seen in the photo. Tess was given the royal treatment, including a manicure and blow dry, with treats for her and her 2 canine companions. I highly recommend Craig for his gentle confidence with dogs and the grooming he provides. Thanks Craig 🙂

First time using Blue Wheelers and I have been impressed from the start with Craig and his service! He was able to go out of his way to fit in with my schedule to ensure Archie had his clip in time for Santa.
Craig has done an exceptional clip on Archie. It was exactly as I requested – if not better! Archie smelt amazing and looked great too!
