I love being part of the Blue Wheelers team – washing and grooming a variety of dogs in Palmerston

My number one tip for pet owners is to regularly walk your dog and regularly groom your pet, as they will love you for it. I know mine do – they told me.

The best thing about being a Blue Wheeler is being part of the transformation of your pooch from a sometimes scruffy dog to a well-groomed and great smelling furry family member. A lick or kiss on the face also goes a long way too.

My wife (Deb) who runs North East Darwin inspired me with all the happy stories about the people and dogs she meets every day (who wouldn’t want to be a groomer). It is better than any other job out there (that is if you want to call this a job)

I don’t really have a favourite breed but if I were to choose one, it would probably be a Pomeranian. Our to Shar Pei x Mastiffs Simi and Blaze are the best pooches we have had to date, they are always up to some mischief.

My Blue Dog Trailer was named Reb by the previous owner. I was going to change it, until one day a customer rang to have her dog washed, he was a 65 kilo red Mastiff , he was the biggest dog I have ever washed and probably the biggest dog in Darwin. So I decided to leave the name Big Red after him.

Before Blue Wheelers, I was a wharfie for over 21 years. Working lots of shift work and never knowing what shift I was working seemed to put my focus elsewhere. Now I can be fully focused on my customers and my furry clients and living our slogan every day because “Doesn’t Your Best Friend Deserve the Best”.

He did a great job on both of my dogs ( Chihuahua and English staffy). Both came out looking a million dollars. Great Service , fast response, and great prices. Will definitely be calling him back 🙂

After nearly three weeks of being frustrated, because no one clips dogs in this area, I communicated with Blue Wheeler, and could not be happier that I did. Very helpful and they went out of their way to find me someone who would come out. I had Nick come out and give Russell a haircut and nails done. Extremely pleased with the service, Thank you again, and Thank you Nick for looking after my boy. He though he was a pup after his haircut!! Cheers Helen

My poor little Pomeranian had been neglected of late as there was a new human member to the family Seth 11 weeks. After trying to find a dog groomer I saw a blue wheeler in town and googled them as soon as I could. Nick got in touch with me the very next day and made an appointment I’m so thrilled with everything he did. Our little mate Mr G is the envy of the street now looking like a lion. Thank you so much Nick we would recommend you to everyone.
