Joel Howe

Good things come to those who wait. Sooner or later.

Almost 4 years ago Joel was looking for a small business opportunity. When he saw a Facebook Ad for Blue Wheelers, Wash, Clip and Groom, he made a wise decision to find out more.

He simply picked up the phone and had a good yarn with Colin Burrow, Blue Wheelers’ BDM. “Col was a great help and gave me the motivation to get my finances in order to be able to move forward. He gave me all the information I needed to make an informed decision”.

Life seems to always get in the way, as that process took longer than expected and Joel signed up with his new business 4 years later in July 2024. Joel is now the proud owner of Blue Wheelers Canning Vale in Perth.

As every new Groomer will confirm, the Experience Day on the road is a game changer in helping new entrepreneurs take that final leap of faith. Joel went out on the road for the day with Mark Phenna, Blue Wheelers Ellenbrook, who has been making an excellent living grooming dogs for over 15 years and is now part of our State Support team in WA.

Joel says he was little nervous as expected, but Mark was great and answered all his burning questions. Joel got to see how a typical day goes as a mobile dog groomer; the set up; the dogs; the customers, the control over your day.

It’s a two-way street with an Experience Day as our Groomers can tell very quickly if a prospect will be a good fit and if their passion for dogs is genuine. It’s a win for everyone on a Blue Wheelers Experience Day.

Blue Wheelers has zero hidden agenda. We are governed by the Franchising Code of Australia and must adhere to its guidelines with full disclosure. The company is run professionally and efficiently.

At the end of Joel’s experience day on the road with Mark, he knew it would be a perfect business opportunity for him and his family.

“I could see that it would be a role that I would love as I’m mad about dogs. I also could see that it would be financially beneficial and could grow quickly”.

With only four weeks on the road so far, Joel says: “I’m feeling positive about the business. I think it’s off to a great start and will continue to grow. I can confidently say that I love my business.” The customers are great, that’s both the four legged and two legged customers.
